Research

Research support is an important part of promoting innovation and development in various fields. For this reason, I want to highlight some remarkable persons and some recourses for research.

Johan Bure
Johan Bure

Johannes Bureus

He is best known for the research he conducted on his Norrland family, the Bureätten. Research he conducted for about 40 years and which was research on a peasant family, which was something completely new. Johan is therefore often referred to as the "father of genealogy".

The Bureätten is probably the world's most researched peasant family.

If you want to read more about Johan, there is a lot written and many societies and groups to participate in. A good start might be to read the essay on Wikipedia about him.

The fact that Johan also bears the epithet "the father of Swedish grammar" should also be highlighted, but it is drowned in everything that this, in my opinion, great man achieved.

Being a member of the Bureätten myself is a great advantage. Simply because it gives me an enormous amount of research material to draw from.

Hans Högman

Hans is an authority in genealogy, Swedish history, and militaria. If doing research, the following links will likely be useful;

The scope and depth of these sources are enormous. Which regiment did an ancestor belong to? What units of measurement did the housewife use when measuring flour for baking in the 1800s? What can be learned about the history of banks? The material is extensive and it is recommended to explore it in depth via the links.
