Marie's Ancestors
Ebba Jakobsson
Ebba grew up in Ödsmål as one of ten siblings. She moved to Gothenburg and supported herself, among other things, as a presser and a maid before marrying Karl Larsson and later starting her own business, running cafés at construction sites. Ebba knew what she wanted.
Karl Larsson
Karl, or Kålle, grew up as one of seven siblings, mainly in Örgryte as a child and later around Lundby on Hisingen. As far back as one can trace, Kålle’s ancestry and his entire being radiated that he was a typical Gothenburger. Naturally, he worked in the harbor and held a seaman’s book.
Giuseppina Busetto
Giuseppina came from an old Venetian family, as the name Busetto suggests. She raised her and her husband’s children in the discipline and admonition of the Lord. She was loved by the children and was called “The Lioness.” If the children misbehaved, their shoes disappeared and with them the possibility of going out.
Enrico Pregel
Enrico and Giuseppina raised eight children together, one of whom was Sebastiano, known in everyday life as Nello, who immigrated to Sweden in his thirties. Enrico was employed by the municipality of Venice as a music teacher. He also taught music to children at the summer camp in Feltre.
